Also known as a "normalizer", vitamin A acetate (retinol) has received much attention in recent years, as the active ingredient of choice for the treatment of aging skin in beauty care products. Vitamin A promotes enzymatic activity in the skin. It thickens the epidermis and can regenerate skin prematurely aged by UV rays. It can also help increase skin elasticity and reverse light damage.

Vitamin A is widely used in products such as moisturizers, lotions, body butters, shampoos, conditioners, gels and scrubs. It is particularly suitable for anti-aging formulations.

Vitamin A is reserved for cosmetic use. The law does not allow more than 1% to be added to cosmetic formulas.
